I have a friend who just graduated from Mass General Neurosurgery residency. He received a BA, MA, MBA, and MD, all from Harvard, and did it in only nine years. It helps that he has a photographic memory.
He has an expertise in complex spinal deformities, is a professor, and runs a center for surgery at a large hospital system in New York. All at the ripe age of 33 years old.
I will be shocked if he doesn’t end up doing some groundbreaking things in his area of expertise and/or running a large hospital system someday.
