Trump warns of an epic stock market crash if he's not re-elected. And I wonder if he's right. I think the market would
be fine based on economic data/principles....but... we've become such a partisan country that it wouldn't surprise me if a chunk of people would sell their stocks. They might sell to prove a political point. They might sell because they are Trump loyalist. Who knows how much equity they would control of the total equity in the market? But if it's 5% of all equity owned and it hit the market at once.. that would move the market lower. Then wouldn't some others sell just to avoid the risk? Or get short to hedge some of their risk. Could this become a self fulling prophecy?
