Some posters need to Calm down about Kalani contract talk.
Lets see this for what it is. He mentored under the Utes who have been riddled with inconsistency but with flashes of nation garnering attention in great season. I aspire for more but it take some time to reshape the team from what it was built to do to something else. We are all so impatient and I include myself here. We want big results in a couple of years but building something that lasts does not happen overnight and everyone is learning.

The first season was good, the next season was unbelievably riddled with injury and yes bad. Last season was mediocre but could have easily had 2-3 more wins if a few things would have aligned. Last year looked and felt different to me and that is what I have been waiting to see. Kalani finally got his own staff last year. I think much of the last 8 years has been defined by mediocre or injured quarterback play, mediocre WR and a very lightly recruited OL who has struggled to compete. This will be the type of year where we will start to see what we can be under Kalani.

If we look out of sorts, overpowered by everyone and out coached then we need to rethink things in a hurry. In my opinion I can sit through another 7-8 win season if we look good throughout. So much of football is matchups with scheme, players etc. I have to admit though if we keep losing to Utah and Utah State Kalani's time will quickly draw to a close. That implosion cannot continue indefinitely.
