Why? Houston ranked #6, BYU ranked #23 by Athlon's Pre-season list evaluating
Strength of Schedule. I am having a hard time understanding why Houston is ranked ahead of BYU, let alone at #6.
Houston P5 games + notable G5 games:
Oklahoma, Washington State + Cincinnati, UCF, Memphis.
BYU P5 games + notable G5 games:
Utah, Tennessee, USC, Washington + Toledo, USF, Boise State, Utah State, San Diego State.
So I'm curious why Houston is ranked so far head of BYU, but mostly why Houston is ranked #6? If I were looking for an easier schedule to pile up wins, I would trade Houston's 2019 schedule any day.
