Whether it be the hiring of a coach, signing of a recruit/free agent, conference affiliation, etc. we sometimes can get caught up in the nuances and various factors of a decision. To make sure you don't out-think yourself, sometimes you just need to step back and do a "smell-test." Gauging how your rivals feel about a decision is one of those.
I could give a dozen different reasons why I believe independence is superior to the AAC or MWC. But seeing Aggie fans and Ute trolls try to persuade BYU fans that a G5 football conference is better for BYU is like asking an anti-Mormon why an investigator should join the Church. They don't have BYU's best interests at heart, and that is as clear a sign to me as any as to what course of direction BYU football should take.
