The discussion is moot since we won't come close to 10 defeated seasons. In fact, we would be overjoyed with one.

But all you need to know to realize I'm right is that (a) ND had its own exclusive deal with NBC when it was ticking off a bunch of .500 seasons under Davie, Weis, and Willingham, (b) the AD for Notre Dame could get admission to its choice of at least two P5 conferences any time he wanted by picking up a phone, (c) a no-loss or one-loss ND is likely in the playoff, (d) even if all 10 of those fictional years yielded NC's, we'd still be behind ND, (e) in reality, BYU would have to pull at least two of those fictional undefeated seasons back to back to be in any kind of serious playoff contention, and even then would likely get the UCF treatment (though at some point we would get in).

We aren't even close to ND.
