offer Russ for John Wall and a couple first rounders. Their contracts are very similar, and the Wizards would be in a position with Russ and Beal that they could actually field a competitive team in the East (not contenders obviously, but at least a playoff team).

For OKC, they should want to tank for a couple years, they absolutely have to build through the draft and trades. If they could get a couple firsts and a second or two from the Wizards, they’ll have a ridiculous amount of assets, and that puts them in full tank for at least next year with Wall being out. I don’t see any downsides. OKC isn’t going to be competitive in the stacked west anytime soon.
