The stewards are inconsistent and vacillating on this question, and it might be time for them to start getting sniped. I'm not a Ferrari fan, just a casual observer, but they've gotten screwed. Let's get this straight:
- Vettel does not touch Hamilton, Hamilton stays on the track and has room, Vettel gets penalized.
- Verstappen crowds Leclerc off the track and bumps him, no penalty.
So which is it, F1 stewards? You can't have it both ways. We're either racing for serious or we're horsing around. The only consistency it seems is to screw Ferrari over.
As a racing fan, I don't think either one deserves a penalty, and I think it's unreal that there's this much scrutiny over nothing. The stewards are committing the refereeing cardinal sin of taking themselves too seriously and grabbing far too much attention. That's the tell-tale sign of doing a crappy job.
