Aren’t most states’ public university systems trying to accommodate a lot of
Demand? Only 3 of the 13 Big 10 state schools enroll less than 40,000, while 7 of the 13 enroll more than 45,000. Even with those huge enrollments, their admissions metrics like average GPA and SAT/ACT scores are on par with or better than BYU. The kids that don’t get in have to go to schools like Illinois-Chicago or Minnesota-Duluth or Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
