And that's return 4 players that have each ALREADY had MULTIPLE seasons with double digit scoring averages?
TJ(3 seasons): 13+, 11+ & 17+
Yoeli: 17+ & 21+
Toolson: 11+ & 15+
Emery: 16+ & 13+
Of course, unlike surefire talents like Yoeli, TJ & Toolson, who all score with high efficiency, Emery's Sr yr is still a wildcard(eg can he regain much of what he displayed his soph & esp frosh yrs)? That said, he won't need to score anywhere near 13-16ppg as before. If he plays hard/effective defense and scores around 8-10ppg, w/ efficient shooting, then that will be all this team needs from him.
Another positive is that these "stars" will all be seniors and Pope has mentioned in interviews that having a large group of seniors(that are starters/heavy PT) can be very beneficial. And not just from the obvious standpoint that a Sr athlete should be incrementally better than when he was a jr, soph, frosh but that the urgency that many Sr's play with being their last yr etc has a strong positive effect...
Then add guys like Baxter, Harding, Saljaas and possibly Wade(alot of positive practice reports about his abilities) with a new & highly energized staff that are proven winners on the D1 level and I'm surprised our fans aren't excited!
This isn't just same old, same old. This amount of proven talent on our roster AND staff is very unusual for us!
Making and winning at least one Tournament game is VERY reachable this year!
