They ignore the quagmire this would bring to the team concept. They forget about the undeniable facts regarding the fraction of a percentage of players stuff like this would apply to.... along with the indisputable data espn put out a while ago regarding the huge percent of professionals who are financially ruined 3 years after their sports careers are over (most careers last about 3 years). Would college age kids make better or worse financial decisions if they cane into a lot of cash when they are 20 years old....
