The reasonable solution would be
As long as he’s working on repenting, suspend him from football but let him stay in school. Reevaluate at mid season. He has a redshirt year to use if needed.
Kicking kids out school rarely accomplishes anything. The honor code enforcement needs less punishment and more forgiveness.
