We stopped using bags unless absolutely necessary, period.
You put store items in your cart, check them out, push your cart to your car, and load them up. When you get home, use your hands to carry the things from the car to fridge. It might take 2 trips, but it's small exercise anyway.
Do you really need the 5-6 bags when the only time they carry things is from your garage to fridge?
