I'm skeptical that it's an addiction, but I'm not sure its helpful to focus on
the distinction either. Whether its an addiction or not, compulsive use can be problematic.

I think getting involved in the addiction recovery and attending group regularly, and getting a sponsor go a very long way.
Focusing and working through the material on the Atonement, putting it to work in your life and growing your faith can be the most powerful. I think you've got to make it about seeing the big picture, the whole Plan of Salvation and striving towards that daily--with the support structure discussed above.

You will not do it on your own.
