Doesn’t seem any less impressive than I’m sure it did for those who were aware of it at the time. In fact, to me, the fact they did it with the limited technology available at the time makes it even more impressive.

Tangent about the hoax rumors:

I’ve always believed pulling a hoax like that off would be impossible with so many people involved.

Today it occurred to me that for all the fake propaganda I’ve heard about the Russians producing, I don’t recall hearing about any propaganda that the moon landing didn’t happen. Surely the Russians would have been desperate to discredit the accomplishment if there was even a hint it wasn’t real.

For those too young to remember, as an example, they used to show their citizens reruns of the Beverly Hillbillies to make us all look like rubes. It backfired because their citizens asked why our poor and uneducated had cars when they didn’t.
