price for a stock, but there's got to be another step in there where things are averaged out, right? This is probably a stupid question/example, but I'm trying to get a more full understanding. If a stock is trading at $10, and I put in an buy order for 100 shares at $50 each and its filled, the stock price didn't really jump to $50. At least not in a way that would be displayed or recorded as having done as such, I'm presuming. So is the price just an average for the last minute or 5 minutes or something?
