is more likely to draw a group of fans that will do absolutely crazy things that the average citizen. Not all U fans. Not even close the majority.
Not speaking without experience outside of mormon suburban communities. Didn't grow up in Utah so I have been outside of the bubble. I lived in an inter-city area for 4 years as an adult. Served missions in undeserved areas. Worked with mostly ex-cons in a Salt Lake factory right after the mission. Not bad guys and we all became friends but they were all U fans and lived to drink, get high and be promiscuous. My grad university would email everyone whenever there was a crime on campus with some of the cursory details. I never got one of these emails about assault, rape, battery, armed robbery that didn't mention bars or alcohol.
We are each shaped by our experiences but I must say my experiences with addictive substances combined with undeserved communities show a dearth of good decisions. Demographically, even based on where the large universities are in vicinity to the largest populations the U is going to draw a larger crowd of those citizens in those circumstances. No doubt BYU has some of the same fans.
