Random thought, but the "Ostertaaaag" groans from the crowd would always make me
laugh at a basketball game.
Does anyone find it funny that for about a 15 year stretch, any time a basketball player in the state of Utah got the ball in the paint and fumbled it, there would be groans of "Ostertaaag" ringing out from the crowd? It cracks me up that without fail no matter where I was in Utah I would hear it.
Whether it was it was church ball, junior jazz, high school or college games. From St. George to Tremonton and everywhere in between, without fail the "Ostertaaaaag" comments would rain down anytime a post player fumbled the ball.
