It should be set up in a way that encourages guilty parties to plead guilty. If you drink and drive and are caught, there should be no disincentive from owning up to it and admitting guilt. I’ve always hated that part of our legal system. You basically start the entire process off of a lie. The system promotes a flat out lie right off the bat.

I know our justice system is better than most countries but i still wish it was set up in a way that incentivized people to tell the truth and own up to their mistakes.
