Delta flight starts boarding at 4:30 pm today in SLC for a 5:00 pm departure. At 5, they announce we’re still waiting for pilots, they should be on board in time for a 5:30 departure, ok fine. At 5:30, the plane is stifling, they say they have to pull us off because we still don’t have pilots. After deplaning, about 5:45 now, the gate agent says our pilots are still stuck in Kansas City, and they’re going to request different pilots......

At 4:30 pm, you knew the pilots were sitting in Kansas City, and that’s more than a 1 hour flight, why begin boarding in the first place? At 5 pm, why are you telling us the pilots are ~20 minutes away when they’re still sitting in Kansas City? Sometimes it feels like there are no brain cells firing.....
