By myself without the aid of the nurse or nurse's aide. That was a complete workout. Even though I was sitting down in the shower the effort it took including drying off brushing teeth shaving combing hair has taken all of the juice out of me.

My goodness this is going to be a long road at least how I'm saying it now. For anyone who has a family member who has struggled with this just know this it is as humbling experience as I can imagine having to rely on everybody for everything. And if you're the kind of person like me who struggles to ask for help you're in for a rude awakening if this happens to you.

The physical and occupational therapy has also been an eye opener. Simple things that you do with your feet and your legs become overwhelming especially when you think you've got it down only for them to change one element to the exercise and suddenly feel like you're back where you started. It is tough.

It's humbling to have to admit that to myself and I just keep reminding myself that the Lord is with me through this and that I will be climbing up the side of that mountain again getting myself ready for the Nordic ski season. I just don't know how long would it take for me to get to wear my balance is good enough but I can actually jog along the trails
