This thread got me googling my friend and SR-71 pilot Gil Bertelson. Learned he passsed away a couple years back
We met when he was the EMBA program director at BYU. Later I worked on his shift at the Provo Temple for 3 years. We were pretty close and once when I was in DC at the Air and Space museum out by Dulles, I took a selfie with me and the SR-71 they have on display there and sent it to him. He laughed and said he had fond memories of the blackbird.
He was a great guy, loved golf and played at Riverside basically daily.
Im sad this morning to have learned my old friend passed away. I had no idea. Ugh. 🙁
