They don't want to report on this story for two reasons.
1. It paints U of U athletics in a negative light.
2. It doesn't paint U of U athletics in a positive light.
Given their investigation with the Emery cheating, which didn't benefit the team in any way, it seems a bit silly not to look into academic fraud, which does benefit the team and is already known about. Then again, U of U basketball is a dumpster fire and I can understand not wanting to kick them when they're down.
