The bigger problem was strategic on O-line recruiting/training. They wanted

linemen who were smaller and more agile rather than the big uglies that BYU has done so well with in the past. Then trying to run pro-style with those smaller linemen turned into a nightmare. It wasn't that he didn't recruit them, he just went for the wrong ones, especially considering where BYU's natural personnel strengths have been historically.
