Seated next to two gentlemen both of whom attended BYU in the late 60's. One of them played monster back for coach Hudspeth. His name is Joe James.
He redshirted in 66 played in 67 and was injured in 68. Ended up being a grad assistant coaching the freshmen team which included Golden Richards. He said that Golden was the most amazing athlete he had ever seen on the field. I wonder was Golden Taysom before Taysom?
It was fun listening to Joe's stories about playing for the Y. He did say that nobody enjoyed playing for coach Hudspeth. Also found out that Marc Lyons was his uncle.
I always wondered what that would feel like to have an aunt or Uncle younger than you lol. My children have made it clear that I shouldn't be having children at my age hahaha.
Well today I go home and it's go time. I have to care for myself. My girlfriend is having none of that though. She is planning on spending as much time with me during my rehab as possible. I'm still numb on my left side as well as on my right side of my face. They said nerves heal very slowly, so I have to be patient.
Not sure when I'll be back to work. The mental effort it takes to remain balanced when doing simple things is exhausting. Fortunately my boss is saying take my time.
