Like I said, he has a kid now. He’s not just a baby either, he’s like four or five. He just got married and his wife is past the “poor college kid” stage. I don’t know if he’s graduated yet, but if he’s still in school, he has limited free time. With basketball, there is almost zero free time. It makes complete sense for him to move on to bigger and better things.
Not only all that, BYU fans have treated him pretty horribly the past few years. He doesn’t owe BYU anything, and I don’t blame him for hanging it up at all. So maybe instead of questioning if his heart isn’t in it, or throwing the words “scandal” and “drama” around, let’s just say thank you for what he’s done and realize there are more important things than basketball.
