The_Minister Walk-on
Thank you, Nick. I NOW understand the decision to retire and I admire you for it

I don't want to argue whether Nick had a net positive/negative impact on BYU basketball but after reading these two blogs, it seems very obvious to me the real reason behind his retirement today.

Written by Nick for Father's Day:

Written by Nick's new wife and widow, Jenna:

I don't know Nick personally but I loved when he was great and I was naturally bummed when he made mistakes on or off the court. We know more about his personal life than we usually care to know about a player but after reading these blogs, in my opinion, Nick goes out on top.

I don't think this decision is about playing time or any other nonsense, this is about a kid who became a man before our eyes over these past 4 years. He has a wife who needs a husband and a kid who needs a father now and it looks to me like he did what any good dad does, make a sacrafice of something he loves for his family.

Nick, thanks for the journey and I wish you the best. You weren't perfect but you keep on keepin on and that's what I think we are all trying our best to do. God bless, my fellow dad.
