A definitive answer to the question of whether BYU has higher academic standards
than NCAA minimums. Yewt fans are always quick to claim that BYU doesn't hold their athletes to any higher standard beyond what is nominally required by the NCAA.
Our standard offer letter to recruits tells them that they have to perform at a level higher than NCAA minimum to be admitted to BYU.
You must continue to excel academically. Obtaining a strong high school GPA and ACT/SAT test score is a must. BYU's standards are higher than that of the NCAA.
