You need to put a preemergent down next spring. That will stop all the grassy
weeds (like crabgrass) from germinating, and you'll have very little crabgrass next year. Then you attack the broadleaf weeds with a post-emergent spray when they start coming in next year. You can even do the broadleaf treatments this fall, although probably not within a few weeks of when you do your fall seeding.
