But that is logical because of the Church. But non-church members don’t really care much about BYU sports, this is just the truth. They don’t care much about Utah either. Being in a conference forces the other fanbases in that conference to care though, we are developing good rivalries with those fanbases.

In terms of the national landscape/national media, they care about winning teams. Hence why Utah is getting love. If they win and are in play for bigger things you’ll be seeing and hearing more about them. If they tank or take early losses you won’t hear much about them, which is expected. It’s also why you don’t hear much about BYU nationally given their recent records. But all that can change. Currently BYU fans on CB are just acting like the 6 yr old brother who is bitter at his 10/10 looks 36 ACT all-state QB older brother who is getting all the national love and trying their best to hide their jealous tears.
