Larry scott specifically mentioned culture
As a characteristic of those they considered inviting. “Culture” was a code word for you have to think and act like the rest of us.....BYU is the exact opposite of Cal, Stanford, Oregon on most, if not all, moral issues. Religion was absolutely a consideration based on the fact that BYU’s culture is dictated by its religious sponsoring institution.
