I didn't read the article, but the OP seemed to indicate that
BYU was practicing two fronts because it hadn't decided which scheme to use. I totally agree that the team needs to be flexible based on down/distance/personnel (e.g., nickel, goal line, etc), but if they haven't decided what their "every down — standard defense" is going to look like...then I'm skeptical about the potential. Sometimes more is less.
