This isn't the Bronco. Ford is still releasing a truck-based Bronco that will be meatier and more capable...

They have shown publicly the plan for a "real" Bronco successor and this smaller crossover. It has been labeled "baby bronco" but there is nothing official out there saying that it will even carry the Bronco name. Two different vehicles, this one being targeted at the mall-crawling audience.

Yes, this one is. But there is a second, truck-based Bronco being developed that does appear to be more meaty.
