This is true although BYU isn’t governed by the same standards...

as the teams in the MWC other than Boise. BYU has a name based on a lot of accomplishments over a long period of time so for them if they win a big game early they get the benefit of the doubt by pollsters. A name really does help even if a little bit of the shine is off of it.
