I'd probably ask him about Detmer. Just because I'm curious.
What did he see as the reason behind Detmer's lack of success as an OC?

I've heard some reports that Detmer was spending as much time teaching the offense to his assistant coaches as he was teaching the players that first year - which to me means that the entire offense only had one coach for large periods of time instead of getting as much work in small groups. Also makes me wonder how well the position coaches even understood what they were supposed to be teaching the players.

Some have said that Detmer is a pretty chill coach (not the ultra-competitor we saw as a player) - did he not push the players hard enough? Was he too easy-going? Did they need more discipline during practices?

Was the offensive scheme too easy in his eyes? Too easy for other teams to pick up on and defend? Or was it too hard? The players couldn't execute it well due to not understanding it? Or was it maybe just a bad design for the players BYU gets?

I'm not sure there are any answers - but I'm curious.
