You can't be so impatient in college football. Even more true at BYU.
You can't quit on a coach before he even has a team full of his own guys. A lot of fans don't understand just how bad our scholarship situation was and how hard it is to manage at BYU. That's being corrected and it's finally getting close. Depth has had to be built up and scholarships have needed to be filled with better quality talent. When you have missions, you have to wait a little longer for that.

We're going into year 4 but a ton of Kalani's recruits are freshmen and sophomores.

#1- BYU fans have been really spoiled. The consistency for so long without really high high's or really low lows has made people spoiled. Taking a dip in college football is inevitable. It happens. It's not the end of the world when it happens. Michigan State made the freakin playoff and then the next year they won 3 games. It happens.
#2- So BYU had their dip. The next season after, they showed improvement.
Through that rebuilding season, they found a bunch of offensive linemen to fill places. It's our most talented OL in more than a decade, but most of them were freshmen and sophomores.
They found a QB. Took halfway through the season but he learned things, got in, and became the 3rd best rated freshman in the country.
They played the 4th most freshmen in the nation last year. It shows what BYU has had to do as far as replacing talent and getting better talent on the field. Younger guys, Kalani's recruits, have been passing up older guys for playing time.

So they had the down year. They had the rebuilding year. Now there are hardly any excuses. It's time to do more.

I'm sorry, but it's a complete joke to say "eh, they won more games than in 2017, but it's not good enough." Well duh. That was the rebuild. It wasn't expected to be great. That's what rebuilding is.
It's ridiculous to say we don't think they'll keep him even though BYU has shown improvement in every way and all signs point up. They're on the way up. They aren't there yet. You don't magically jump up when you're BYU. They're working their way up and anyone who takes 5 minutes to look at BYU can see all the signs. But yes, they have to once again show improvement on last year and can't fall flat.
