Let’s just settle this idea that BYU is somehow inferior when they’re wearing royal blue. The numbers don’t lie, looking in particular at the BYU-Utah rivalry.
BYU is 22-14 all-time against Utah in royal blue (home or away) for a winning percentage of .611.
BYU is 12-47 all-time against Utah in navy blue or anything else (home or away) for a winning percentage of .203.
Winning percentages against Utah over the last 50 years:
Royal: .611
