was flowing out of the atoll during our scheduled dives. The good dives are when there is an in-flow. I do feel like the diving was over promised and under delivered in all of French Polynesia. There was a good snorkeling spot called the "Aquarium" in Rangiroa and it was awesome. Unless you are there primarily for diving there is very little else to do. Like most of French Polynesia, everything is expensive including the food and there are not many food choices in Rangiroa. If you are going for the dives be prepared to be disappointed if you don't catch the right currents. If you don't dive......don't go. We spent a week in the area including the islands of Tikihau and Fakarava.
