About the scrimmage: “Thought it was a good day. We’re just getting used to playing in the stadium, that’s about it.”
Hows the shoulder? “Really good. Just like normal — nothing you’ve gotta think about.”
On opening the season vs Utah in 8 days: “Exciting, man. Amazing opportunity to be in our home stadium with our fans. I know the guys are ready to go — we’ve prepared for this.”
So you’ve watched last year’s Utah game over 100 times? “Oh yeah. I’ve watched ours so many times, I’ve watched the last couple seasons tons of times. Just trying to get used to it. (What have you learned from them?) Just needing to finish. The momentum shifted, I think that’s something we need to keep on our side... We didn’t start the second half great. I had mistakes I need to clean up. That’s definitely the goal.”
Relationship with (Utah Safety) Julian Blackmon? “Second cousin on my dads side of the family. Distant, but we’ve known each other since we were little. We haven’t talked since last year. (Haven’t talked since last year’s game?) Yeah.”
Are you guys sick of hearing about the streak? “I mean, the streaks not us. I’m not too worried about it because I wasn’t here when we lost however many games it was. It’s a new team, new time, new players, new coaches, all that stuff. So we don’t really worry about the streak.”

Connection with Ty’Son Williams? “Really good. He’s a new guy, so I know it’s hard for him to come in and try and make friends, especially joining late last second. The guys have done a really good job taking him in. He’s such a cool dude, like the most respectful guy ever. We’ve had him over for BBQ’s and stuff at the house already... He’s great to have around, I think he fits in well.”
