The way I see it is that Florida carries much more significance to BYU as a team that is ranked in front of BYU than it does as part of the overall fabric of an opponent’s schedule.

Polls are fluid early in the season. The opportunity for BYU to make a huge move in the polls is within the first couple of weeks of the season. Early chaos will be good for BYU. Looking at the broader goals it is not nearly as important for Florida to boost up Tennessee’s SOS as it is for Florida to be behind BYU in the polls as soon as possible.

That is why I believe rooting for Miami is the right call.
