Looking at Tennessee’s last 3 games (all losses) for trends.
Last year Tennessee has to win just one of its last 2 games to become bowl eligible. Yet they were blown out by Mizzou (8-5) at home and Vandy (6-7) on the road. And we all know what happened with Georgia State.
In all 3 losses UT lost the turnover battle. Their QB Guarantano has thrown at least 1 interception in all 3 games, and 2 of the 3 they fumbled as well.
Mizzou, Vandy, and GA St rushed for 43, 41, and 53 attempts compared to 30, 35, and 24 passing attempts respectively. In those 3 games, 8 different ball carriers had a rushing attempt go for 15+ yards, including 4 from Georgia State. Yikes.
Looks like BYU should follow Utah’s model. Run the ball a ton and play conservatively on offense, win with special teams and defensive takeaways.

I'd also add that BYU's defense needs to shut down Tennessee's run game and force their QB to air the ball out.
