Week 1-- USC had a tough game against Fresno State who made a big come from behind effort only to fall 31-23. USC lost it's starting qb in the game for the season. Backup, Slovis, came in and went 6-8 for 57 yards and an INT. Fresno then lost another heartbraker at home to Minnesota 38-35 in OT. Minnesota moved to 2-0 with a previous win over the South Dakota State Jackrabbits 21-28. Minnesota scored the go ahead touchdown with 5 minutes left in the game. The Jackrabbits are historically pretty tough, but have not played any other games yet this year.
Week 2-- USC played even with Stanford for one half before blowing them away in the second half 20-45. Stanford beat Northwestern the week before at home 17-7. Stanford was without its starting qb for much of the game against NW, but used 4 turnovers and a run game to hold off an injury plagued Northwestern. Northwestern replaced it's starting qb in the game because he was ineffectual. The second string qb was then injured in the 3rd quarter. Northwestern has not played any other games.
