Football does more good than I probably know. These people's opinions about members of the Church have changed and who knows what will or won't come of it. I tend to forget this when I am so focused on wins and BYU football returning to better days.

Secondly, does this (the public comments referred to in the OP) happen if we are in a conference? I don't know. I'm sure some of it would. But when in a conference fans are more emotional and less open on both sides...not to mention get sick of each other (think of the MWC fans who were sick of losing to us.)
