That may be true and
wouldn’t we rather be in Utah’s shoes right now as an increasingly competitive member of the Pac-12? Just as it is for BYU to compete with current and future scheduling, Utah has gone through a tough transition from a MWC to a Pac-12 schedule.

BYU though has a signicant recruiting disadvantage as we cannot even attract or keep some of the best LDS athletes because of rigorous academics and an overly stringent honor code.

It’s unfortunate because BYU offers an environment which most parents would favor over any alternative schools. Having a sober reputation, a clean and safe campus and housing, and a chance to date like minded girls isn’t available at the same level anywhere else.

An opportunity to grow in the faith while being surrounded by many role models, including professors, is a priceless experience.

We simply have to recruit great athletes to be able to compete with upcoming schedules. Winning is everything in football. Just ask Utah how they were invited into the PAC-12.
