But your original response from the OP was you can't out exercise a bad diet...
and you said I don't understand why people say this and went on to explain you don't diet and just ramp up exercise when needed to cut a few lbs.

I think when people say you can't out exercise a bad diet they are pointing towards the average American diet that is full of high fat and high carbs from bad fast food.

In this case you really don't fit the mold of the typical American diet.

As someone that has yoyo dieted for years with about 20-30lbs from in season and out of season training for different races I can say it will eventually catch up. I never had an issue knocking the weight off as I got close to a race. I would eat like crap until about 60 days out from a race and then go to a very strict diet and drop the weight. But slowly I've seen it start to take more time to come off. Even thought I'm doing the exact same thing it's just taking longer. I had to move to 90 days out and finally I just said forget it. I'm just dropping my weight now and keeping it at my race weight. Obviously this will be accomplished by improving my diet for long term success.
