On the post game show on KSL Sitake was asked about going for it on 4th instead of kicking the field goal and putting points on the board.

His answer? “I got greedy. Maybe I shouldn’t have done it and maybe i’ll rethink it.”

That kind of answer is very frustrating. That was an obvious spot to get points on the board. Put the pressure on USC to have to match or score a td to go ahead.

The fact that he is in year 4 as a head coach and making these types of in-game errors is the biggest head scratcher to me.

In a given game a head coach may impact a handful of individual plays (at most), and Sitake seems to mess up on a relatively large percentage of them by trying to be cute, throw a curve ball, or simply do something that the other team might not expect (generally because it is a stupid thing to do with almost no chance of success-like faking a punt on 4th and 19).
