It's Amazing how a few plays can have such a significant impact on a game...
Great game. Great victory. But I want to highlight just 3 plays that had a huge impact on the game.

1. MISSED PI AGAINST BYU in the FIRST HALF. It was an obvious PI. BYU was rolling at that point. If it had been called, it would have led to a 1st down deep in USC territory and almost certainly would have let to at least a FG if not a touchdown. Additional points at that point in the game would have been huge for BYU and could have changed the entire tenor of the game.

2. NOT SETTLING for FG in 2nd HALF. There is almost always disappointment in having to settle for a FG attempt after a nice drive. However, if BYU had taken the 3 points there, it would have given them a lead, maintained momentum, and possibly changed things going forward. We'll never know for sure, but that was a big decision. If they had converted on 4th down it would have been a different story. But most of the time, it's better to take the 3 points and move on.

3. PENALTY ON TY'SON'S GREAT RUN at the END OF REGULATION. If that penalty had not been committed, BYU wins the game in regulation. They would have almost certainly gotten at least a FG attempt after that run put them inside the 20.

Imagine of ALL of these things would have gone differently than they did.
