I am now beginning to hope that this team might be decent, and maybe, even, pretty good. I still fear just about every team on the schedule, but I also feel that if the team plays to their capabilities, they will have a legitimate shot at beating every team that remains on the schedule.

I think many fans are feeling similar to me.

We see improvement from week to week. We see big plays when they're needed most. We see good, consistent effort. We see fewer coaching mistakes and fewer boneheaded plays or decisions by players. Still a lot of room for improvement, but the fact that we're seeing improvement is a huge positive.

Bottom line, all that matters is getting the W.

I hate to think about how I would feel if BYU had lost to both Tennessee and USC in OT and were now at 0-3. Both games could have gone either way, but somehow BYU found a way to win both of them. And now, in the AP poll, they're even receiving a few votes. That's probably way premature in my opinion, but people are beginning to take notice. Being on ABC in prime time doesn't hurt.

I have always said that Indy can be a VERY positive thing for BYU if they can just win their fair share of games against good opponents. We'll see what the rest of the season brings, but so far, despite another gut-wrenching loss to Utah, the trajectory of the season and the program appear to be very positive.
