If your kids have phones and data plans
Chances are they know pretty well how to cover their tracks on what they are doing with it. I don't want everybody to assume the worst, but there are some terrible things that kids are exposed to these days.

I have a wonderful co-worker who has a daughter who dragged the family into a dark place with her actions. In seventh grade, the daughter started sending nudes of her self via snap chat. Sending them to boy friends, etc. Before the daughter got home, she'd erase all the apps, TINDR, Snap Chat, etc so mom and dad were not fully aware because this was their good girl. Church active, well adjusted. Sending nudes eventually turned into meeting up with guys and girls for sex. This went on for five years - sometimes as an 8th grader, she'd be meeting with three different people per night, or during the school day to have sex with. This led to other dark things.

As this women explained how her daughter did these things, how she hid it, and how her friends were all basically doing similar things to one degree or another, it made me re-think the freedom that I give to my boys with phones and data. I have resolved to learn more about how to check for things, how to track things and what to look out for. Not that I think my boys are doing anything, but until you know, you don't know what you don't know.

Anyway. Back to football.
