I think you are underestimating next year's schedule a bit. If you look at the
current FPI of the teams we play next year they are as follows:
at #22 Utah
#16 Michigan St.
at #39 Arizona St.
at #40 Minnesota

at #33 Boise St.
#74 San Diego St.
NR North Alabama
at #44 Stanford
Sure, most on the schedule are beatable, but an 8-win BYU team this year is probably only favored in 5 games next year.
